Onion Salad

Slice 3 Spanish onions into a glass bowl.

Boil:

  • 1 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/4 cup star
  • 4 tsp. salt

Pour over onions. Let stand 5 hours or overnight. Drain and discard juice. Cover with:

  • 1 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp. celery seed

Let stand 2 hours before serving.
