In the role of Payroll & Benefits Administrator, you will be a key part of ensuring our 300+ staff have an excellent employee experience with regards to their payroll and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain employee records in HRIS, including new hires, exits, wage/job changes, and transfers.
  • Oversee all timekeeping data and review for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies while escalating as appropriate.
  • Administration of benefits, including group insurance, health spending and retirement savings plans.
  • Prepare ROEs, T4s, T5s, NR4s
  • Record summarized payroll transactions in ERP system and prepare reconciliations as needed.
  • Identify and implement improvements to payroll and benefits processes to increase efficiency.
  • Other projects and administration support.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • An optimistic person who sees solutions and improvement opportunities in every situation.
  • A self-motivated, service-oriented mindset and willingness to take initiative.
  • Exceptional ability to plan, prioritize, and collaborate.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Fluency in Manitoba Employment Standards and related legislation and best practices.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience in UKG and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be considered an advantage.
